Chip Giant MediaTek Opens Dubai office

March 29th 2011 - Aiming to capitalize on its already growing business in the Middle East, MediaTek Inc., the world’s top 5 and Asia’s largest leading fabless semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions today opened its Dubai office.

The Middle East’s’ Smartphone market is set to grow by 28.8% by 2015, according to a report from Value Partners consultants. ‘There is a clear surge in demand for smart phones and mobile devices in the Middle East market. Our products range from high-end to low-end chips, meet the needs of operators in developed markets and enables them to offer feature rich smartphones at affordable prices for consumers in emerging markets,’ Grant Kuo added.

Key features include support 5Mpixel camera, mobile TV, HVGA display, integrated Bluetooth and full HTML browser. MT6236 platform is pre-integrated with MediaTek’s highly proven software solution to considerably reduce the design cycle time.
